Introduction

As the university-wide Focal Person for Community Engagement Activities and a PEC STEM Ambassador, Prof. Dr. Saeeda Nadir Ali has led numerous outreach initiatives connecting NEDUET students and faculty with underprivileged schools, senior citizens, and the wider community — spanning STEM awareness sessions, school infrastructure support, plantation drives, and social welfare activities.

STEAM Safeer Session — "Chemistry in Everyday Life"

Date: November 1, 2025

Beneficiary: Shaheen Government Girls Secondary School, Karachi

Description: Conducted a session connecting chemistry to everyday contexts such as kitchen science, soaps, agriculture, fertilizers, food, and pharmaceuticals, with active student participation.

Beneficiary: School students from Orangi Town, hosted at NEDUET

Description: Organized an exposure visit for underprivileged school students from Orangi Town.

Description: Conducted STEM awareness sessions across Karachi schools to guide Grade VIII students about STEM education and future career opportunities.

Practical Skills Strengthening — The Cowasjee School

Description: Conducted Chemistry, Biology and Physics lab demonstrations to strengthen practical learning after COVID-19.

Functional Classrooms & Labs — Hali Muslim Govt. School

Description: Restored five classrooms and revived three science laboratories after years of non-functionality.

Description: In collaboration with Relief Foundation International, students planted 137 trees to promote environmental sustainability.
