Community Outreach Programme

As university-wide Focal Person for Community Engagement and Societal Impact Activities, Prof. Dr. Saeeda Nadir Ali has led initiatives connecting academia with underserved communities across Karachi.

STEAM Ambassador — School Awareness Session

Shaheen Government Girls Secondary School, Karachi (November 1, 2025) — Conducted a session on “Chemistry in Everyday Life,” engaging students on connections between chemistry and daily contexts such as kitchen science, soaps, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.

TTRC Exposure Visit

Orangi Town (October 7, 2025) — Organized an exposure visit for underprivileged school students in collaboration with NEDUET alumni and research students.

STEM Awareness Sessions

Multiple schools across Karachi, including Foundation Grammar School, Superior Grammar School, TCF Alkaram Campus, and others (2024) — As STEM Ambassador, conducted awareness sessions enlightening Grade VIII students about the significance of STEM education.

Outreach Activity at Orangi Town

Al-Hamd Secondary School, City Grammar School, Al-Hamd High School, Al-Habib Secondary School (February & September–November 2024) — Counselling and teaching sessions for Grade IX and X students at four underprivileged schools.

Independence Day Celebration with Senior Citizens

Dar-ul-Sukun, Karachi (August 2022) — Students visited the senior citizens’ home, engaging in conversations and entertainment activities to celebrate Independence Day.

Post-Pandemic Practical Skills Program

The Cowasjee School, NED Campus (June–July 2021) — Lab demonstrations in chemistry, biology, and physics to revitalize practical learning after COVID-19.

Government School Lab Rehabilitation

Hali Muslim Government Boys Secondary School, Nishtar Road, Karachi (January–February 2022) — Made five classrooms functional after 11 years and restored three non-functional science labs, with post-COVID demonstrations in chemistry, biology, and physics.

Plantation Drive

Alfalah Ground, North Nazimabad, Karachi (February 2020) — In collaboration with the Relief Foundation International, students planted 27 trees in the first drive and 110 trees in the second drive.
