Prof. Dr. Saeeda Nadir Ali serves at the Department of Chemistry, NED University of Engineering and Technology, and also holds the position of Manager, Technology Transfer and University-Industry Linkage, and Focal Person of the Technology Innovation and Support Centre at the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC). She has recently been assigned the responsibility of university-wide Focal Person for Community Engagement and Societal Impact Activities.

With over 18 years of diverse experience in teaching, research, innovation, and academic leadership, she is an active research faculty member at the Department of Chemistry, NEDUET. She has supervised and co-supervised 1 PhD, over 30 MS theses, and 16 Final Year Design Projects.

Her research interests lie in method development and validation by HPLC, drug-drug and drug-metal interactions, pesticide residue determination, nanochemistry, spectrophotometric studies of charge-transfer complexes, industrial waste valorization, and the development of sustainable biodegradable coatings and packaging materials. She is currently exploring the commercial potential of sugar industry by-products and the synthesis of edible coatings, actively leading an HEC-NRPU project worth PKR 10+ million.

Dr. Saeeda has published 39 peer-reviewed national and international research articles and filed 7 patents at the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO), Pakistan. She has presented her research at national and international platforms in France, Singapore, Riyadh, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwara, Dubai, and Thailand, and received the Session Best Paper Award at the 2nd International Conference on Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Sciences (ICCBES’15), held in Dubai in May 2015.

Her contributions have been recognized with the NEDAASC Best Teacher Award (2023), NEDUET Best Researcher Award (2024), Best Final Year Project Award by the UNESCO Chair (2024), and five Financial Rewards for publications in well-reputed journals. She has served as PEC STEM Ambassador (2024) and is a Lifetime Member of The Chemical Society of Pakistan.

She is actively engaged in curriculum development and serves as an external examiner for PhD and MS dissertations at leading universities. She regularly chairs sessions, moderates conferences, and reviews research articles for international journals. She has successfully completed five HEC and non-HEC funded projects (2019, 2023, and 2024) and currently serves as Principal Investigator of NRPU-HEC research projects in collaboration with national and international researchers, worth PKR 10+ million.

Beyond academia and research, she is actively involved in departmental activities aimed at nurturing student growth and development. As an event organizer and Focal Person for the Community Outreach Program, she bridges the gap between academia and society — reflecting the spirit of a well-rounded academician.
